Supporting Educational Needs Tea Estate Communities

Cross Culture Tours was born from the legacy of our grandparents—tea plantation workers who came from nothing but gave everything so we could have a future. As one of the most marginalized communities in Sri Lanka, estate workers have long been overlooked, despite their vital contributions to the country’s heritage.

Through every repaired wall, renovated classroom, chair placed, and computer lab built, we honour their sacrifice by helping today’s children access the opportunities they never had. In partnership with ADRA Sri Lanka, we’re bridging generations and creating lasting change through the power of education.

NEW PROJECT - AUGUST 2026

Computer Laboratories in the Tea Estates

Project Overview

Establishing a Computer Lab at Secondary Schools in the Tea Estates

For our 2026 project, Cross Culture Tours will focus on setting up a fully equipped computer lab in a school within a tea estate community. This builds on the success of our 2025 community project, where the introduction of a computer lab had a transformative impact on students’ learning and future opportunities.

In today’s fast-evolving digital world, access to technology is critical. However, many schools in the estate sector still lack the necessary IT infrastructure, leaving students without the digital skills needed to keep pace with the modern world. Without such access, these children risk being left behind, unable to fully participate in higher education or the competitive job market.

By providing infrastructure, furniture, computers, software, internet access, and trained personnel, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to thrive. This project reflects our continued commitment at the heart of what we stand for: connecting communities, empowering futures, and building cultural bridges through education.
